from PCSO Kerrie Harding
There have been a few changes recently to how police deal will many road traffic offences, previously many offences would be dealt with by a fixed penalty fine and points however with the new regulations officers will now complete a traffic offence report which is sent off to the central ticket office who will consider a number of possible penalties.
For those that go beyond no entry to vehicle signs for example the Airfield Road Longstanton the local safer neighbourhood team have not been tasked to actively patrol to enforce this offence however those who use this road should bear in mind that if they are stopped by an officer they are liable to be reported for process as mentioned above.
Between 4th – 5th December unknown offenders have tried to gain access to a garage on Mills Lane Longstanton. No entry was gained and nothing stolen.
Also between 7th – 9th December again unknown offenders have used an implement to try to gain entry to a garage on Collingwood Drive Longstanton. No access was gained, nothing stolen.
If you see any suspicious activity in the area please call it in at the time on 101 or 999 if there is a crime in progress.
