Newsletter – January 2018

from Sharon Unwin – Practice Manager

Patient Survey
Thank you to all our patients who took part in our annual Patient Survey. The results have been published on the practice website. We are delighted with the positive feedback we received. We always like to know what you think so we can improve the service we deliver, and invite you to comment either via NHS choices, through our website or using the suggestion boxes in the surgeries.

New Baby Registrations
New parents need to register their new baby at the Surgery as soon as possible after birth, as this is not done automatically by the hospital. Registration packs are available at reception for you to collect. All you need is the baby’s NHS number which can be found in their red book or hospital discharge paperwork. New parents are expected to book a check up with any GP when the baby is approximately 6-8 weeks old. This can coincide with new mothers 6 week postnatal check. Please contact the surgery to make these appointments and collect your registration pack.

Christmas Lucky Squares in aid of Magpas
Thank you to all patients who brought our Lucky Squares and well done to those who won prizes. The grand total will be announced on our website shortly and included in next month’s edition of the Newsletter.

Christmas Tree
Many Thanks to Andrew and Mary Coe for donating the surgery another beautiful Christmas Tree.

Booking Appointments online
Have you signed up for our online services? Did you know you can book and cancel appointments online, as well as ordering your repeat prescriptions? If you would like us to create an online account, please speak with the receptionists and bring Photographic Identification. We will register you immediately so you have access to this service.

Patient Participation Group (PPG)
We would like to invite our patients to have their say and input on the service we offer. We hold meetings quarterly, and would like to invite more of our patients to get involved. Without your input, we may not know what we can do better. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday 25th January 2018. Please contact our receptionists or the Practice Manager for further information.

Carers Support Meetings
Our next meetings are at Willingham Surgery on Weds 3rd January, Weds 7th February and Weds 7th March at 2pm. If you are a carer, please pop along and get some support from other people in the local community. We will put you in touch with other agencies who can advise on benefits, and offer support and relief when you most need it. Refreshments provided, no need to pre-book and completely FREE! Please contact Sue Lawson at the surgery or email her at for more information.
