Mobile Telephone Numbers
Please update the Surgery with your latest mobile number. If we do not have the correct mobile number you may not receive SMS Text reminders for your appointments.

Flu Vaccinations
We have now received our “flu vaccinations”.  Please call and book your appointment.  The vaccination is recommended (and free!) to all patients over the age of 65, pregnant women and those patients who have a long term medical condition regardless of age.  If you are unsure please ask us.
Private flu vaccinations are available at a cost of £10 for those who are not eligible for free NHS flu vaccination.  Please ask in the pharmacy.

Flu vaccines for Healthy Children
We now have the nasal flu vaccinations (Fluenz) in stock. The campaign to reduce flu in the community by vaccinating healthy children continues.  This winter healthy children born between 01/09/2011 and 31/08/2014 are eligible to receive a nasal flu vaccination.  Please contact the surgery to make an appointment.

The Shingles Vaccination
The following groups of patients are now eligible to have a shingles vaccination 1) Patients born between 2/9/42 and 1/9/46   and  2) Patients born between 2/9/36 and 1/9/38. If you fall into one of the above age groups please contact the surgery to make an appointment.  This is a “one off” vaccination for those who have already had the vaccination, it does NOT need to be repeated.

Please remember to phone 111 if you require medical attention when the surgery is closed.

Surgery Website
Please take a look at our Willingham Medical Practice website as this has recently changed.  We hope that you find the website useful and always welcome feedback.

Self Care Medication
Winter months are very busy times for GSurgeries and it is very helpful if some minor conditions are treated with over the counter medicines.   This is a short list of some medical conditions that can be treated at home.

  • Treatment of acute pain, such as headache.
  • Management of coughs and colds.
  • Reducing body temperature where there is a small increase in temperature.
  • Treating one-off constipation and/or diarrhoea.
  • Treating minor abrasions or irritated skin.
  • Minor allergic reactions.
  • Occurrences of head-lice infestation.
  • Treatment of oral or vaginal thrush.

Telephone Appointments
These can be booked with Doctors if you are happy not to attend surgery.  Many routine matters can be dealt with over the phone but please make sure that we have the correct contact number for you and that you are readily available to take the call.
